8.8.11 - Last Friday was such a great day... first we played live on WRR-FM 101.1 during their "Classic Cafe Live from One Arts Plaza" show. The show is broadcast from a gorgeous studio apartment overlooking downtown Dallas. Thanks to Kurt, Tempie, Amy, Dave, Carla and the rest of the WRR crew - it was wonderful to visit you again. The same evening we played to a super crowd at Trinity Hall - so many friends and family turned out despite the ongoing heat. We tried out a new original song and a new set of French-Canadian tunes with great results. Also, David would like to thank the cute redhead at the front table who made the seductive gestures... brought back memories of playing bachelorette parties at Dick's Last Resort with his old rock band back in the 90's.
1.5.11 - Happy New Year everyone - hope you had a wonderful holiday! How long has it been since you joined us at Trinity Hall for a pint and some tunes? We're there about once a month and we'd love to see you again. We're also looking forward to playing again at the North Texas Irish Festival the 1st weekend in March - fantastic line-up this year, with Dervish, Tommy Sands and Nine-8ths Irish visiting. Oh, be sure to check out our Facebook page for video from the Austin Celtic Festival - we had some guest singers and it was a blast! 11.4.10 - Wow, things are tough out there... today Trinity Hall in Allen closed down, but the main location at Mockingbird Station is still going strong, and we will be there on Friday 11/19 instead of Allen. We'll miss that place! Also, live music at Molly Maguire's has been suspended for the time being. Hopefully won't be for too long, since live music brings a pub alive like nothing else. Am I right? Hope to see many of your 5SR fans at the Austin Celtic Festival this weekend! We are STOKED! 8.18.10 - Our CD is reviewed in the current issue of the SCMA Ceili Newsletter - read it here! Also please join us not once, but twice over Labor Day weekend... Friday (9/3) at the new Molly Maguire's (formerly the Tipperary Inn) and then Sunday (9/5) at Norhpark Mall where we'll be featured onstage as part of the WRR-FM's annual "Picnic in the Park". 7.18.10 - Great fun at Trinity Hall on Friday... Irish dancers and non-Irish dancers! Also, we've been invited to the Austin Celtic Festival in November - see you there!
6.21.10 - It's been a fun month! After a playing a wonderful wedding reception and a special birthday party, we made an appearance at the DeSoto Creekfest, where we we enthusiastically received. And we just got back from the Oklahoma Celtic Festival, which was a blast - new friends and great music! 5.5.10 - We've been selected to perform at the 1st annual Cowtown Celtic Festival in Ft. Worth in October! Yee haw! 3.18.10 - What a party at Lochrann's on St. Paddy's Day! Capped off a great week. Had a wonderful set at Trinity Hall in Allen, followed up by some outdoor fun in Keller at their St. Patrick's Triathlon after-party. Have you gotten your copy of our CD yet?
